SHILLONG, March 3: All India Trinamool Congress leader and former chief minister, Mukul Sangma on Thursday observed that the Congress party will create history on Friday when its five MLAs will sit in the treasury bench as partners of the MDA Government and of the BJP.
Alleging that the ruling party (NPP) has set an undemocratic precedence in Meghalaya by poaching sitting MLAs, former MLAs and party leaders, Mukul wondered what led the five Congress legislators to extend support to the MDA Government which was basically installed by the BJP in 2018.
“It is being done since they (NPP) are desperate to return to power in 2023 because of the various ‘sins’ they have committed and they want to be in power to protect themselves,” Mukul said.
