SHILLONG, March 4: Days after the Border Security Force (BSF) was accused of interfering in the export and import activities at the Land Custom Station (LCS) in Dawki by the Meghalaya International Exporters Chamber of Commerce (MIECC), the former on Friday gainsaid the charges, while terming the same as “false, fabricated and devoid of any merit”.
Maintaining that the allegation was levelled to malign the repute of the BSF, it said, “BSF has never interfered in the functioning of LCS Dawki and has remained confined to its duty of providing security to the men and material involved in the trade and immigration following all the instructions and laid down procedures in letter and spirit.”
Earlier, the MIECC had accused the BSF of meddling in the export and import activities at the LCS in Dawki and asked the intervention of Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma in the regard.
