Fraud

Police arrested one Chabilal Gautam Joshi in connection with a cheating and forgery case under Shillong Sadar PS (EKH).

Body recovered

lOn March 16 at around 7 am, the body of a newborn male baby was recovered from Umiew River at Umthrup village (EKH). A criminal case has been registered at Madanrting PS.

lOne Shining Biam lodged an FIR that on March 14 at around 10.30 am, one of his employee, Sandhu Ram Ray (40/M) was found dead in his bed at M/s L.L. Nongrum Veneer Mills, Umiam (RB). Necessary formalities have been observed and the cadaver sent to CH Nongpoh for PM examination.

 Guns recovered

Regarding a recent dacoity at Rongmil (EGH), further report received indicated that on search of the PO, Police recovered / seized one SBML gun, two toy pistols and one torch light.

Assault attempt

One Markson R. Marak lodged a complaint at Tikrikilla PS that on the night of March 12, one Welsing R. Marak violated the village rule at Raksamgre village (WGH) by attempting to remove logs beyond the permitted timing. Again, on March 14, he attempted to attack the complainant with a dagger.

Rape

A woman lodged a complaint at Laban PS that on March 13 at around 10 am, one unidentified person raped her minor daughter (12) at her house in Madanbitao (EKH).

Theft

On March 12 night, unknown miscreants stole one Tata Sumo vehicle (AS-01-AQ-2296) belonging to one Md. Hazrat from Ladrymbai (EJH).
