Assembly passes resolution

AIZAWL:Mizoram assembly on Friday passed a private resolution lauding Lal Thanhawla-led Congress government for taking efforts to achieve self-sufficiency in power generation.

The resolution moved by two ruling Congress members – R Lalrinawma and Lt Col Z S Zuala – was discussed in the assembly. The ruling party members said the steps taken by Lal Thanhawla-led government to generate more power through construction of hydro-electric projects in the state was praiseworthy. They made special mention to the 90-MW Tuirial project, 210-MW Kaladan project and others. The opposition members, said the government was not sincere to continue the hydel projects taken up by the previous governments. (PTI)
