Altogether thirteen candidates including ten from Meghalaya and three from Assam, selected for recruitment in the Army at Tura were dispatched to their Training Centres all over the country from the Recruiting Office (HQ) Shillong. One Hundred candidates have already joined various Regimental Centres.

Marwari Sammelan Mahila Samiti Shillong distributed over 3000 books to 34 schools of Meghalaya. President, Manisha Jhunjhunwala addressed all the teachers of these schools and asked them to render their services sincerely. These village schools are located in areas where transport facilities are not easily available.
