Deputy Commissioner of West Jaintia Hills has sanctioned gratuitous relief to the tune of Rs 90.69 lakh for payment to the families whose crops were damaged due to flash flood and heavy rainfall on May 25 and 26 under Laskein C&RD Block.
Orientation prog
The West Jaintia Hills district administration will organise an orientation programme on 26 from 11 am to 1 pm for interested MCS aspirants from the district. According to a statement, the programme will be held at District Library Auditorium, Mynthong, Jowai. “Interested participants are requested to email their names and contact details by 24th March, 2022, to [email protected] ,” the statement said.
Basanta Utsav
Rilbong Sports and Cultural Club, Gitanjali Dance Academy and ICCR Regional Centre Shillong will jointly celebrate Basanta Utsav from 9:30 am at Rilbong Ground on Friday. According to a statement, cultural events will also be organised as part of the programme. “In the occasion, members of Rilbong Sports &Cultural Club will also pay tributes to Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore at two iconic bungalows — Brookside and Jitbhumi — located at Rilbong,” the statement said.
