Duo arrested for peddling drugs

BAGHMARA, March 26: Police on Friday arrested two people in South Garo Hills for reportedly peddling drugs.
The duo has been identified as Kashem Ali (22) and Amirul Islam, both from Dhubri district of Assam.
“Acting on a tip-off, the ANTF team of SGH conducted an operation. During the search, one suspect, Kashem Ali, was apprehended and on his lead, the driver of a Bolero pick-up (AS14C 8239), Amirul Islam, was also detained,” informed superintendent of police, SGH, Rithuraj Ravi S.
The police team, after a thorough search of the vehicle, recovered and subsequently confiscated 500 bottles of Phensedyl.
The duo has, meanwhile, been arrested while a case has also been registered in this regard.
