SHILLONG, April 7: MBoSE students, who were unable to appear their board exam earlier this week due to inclement weather condition and subsequent landslips, will be allowed to sit for their papers.
Many students, especially from areas in Pynursla, could not reach their examination centres due to the landslides.
Taking this into consideration, these students have been allowed to sit for re-examination, which will take place after the board exams conclude, a government official said.
Reportedly, as many as 27 SSLC and three HSSLC students from Pynursla area were unable to appear their papers slated for April 4. The process to collect the data on the number of students who missed their exam in Sohra area was under process at the time of filing of this report.
On the other hand, an official of MBoSE, when asked whether the government has come to learn about a recent video which went viral on social media that shows students using mobile phones while appearing their exam, said that action has been taken against those who were involved in the incident as per the examination rules.
Meanwhile, the MBoSE also dismissed allegations by a section of SSLC candidates that the Social Science paper contained some questions not covered in the syllabus.
The MBoSE official said it was not correct to say that questions were out of syllabus since only the question pattern had changed as compared to last year and students were provided with lots of choice to select questions and answer them.
