RESUBELPARA, April 9: The All India Trinamool Congress (AITC) on Saturday formed the Resubelpara block committee in its continuing endeavour to bolster itself in the run-up to the Assembly polls.
The meeting was attended by Rongrong MDC Rinaldo K Sangma, aspiring candidate for the Dadenggre constituency Rupa Marak, along with former supporters of the Congress party.
During the meeting, the members of the newly formed block committee were asked to work at the grassroots level.
Meanwhile, Pildash Marak and Sengjrang Sangma were voted as president and secretary respectively while Bristine Marak was voted as working president of the new block committee.
Rongrong MDC, during the meeting, expressed hope that the four constituencies in North Garo Hills will contribute big  time in bringing Mukul Sangma back to power in 2023.
“The presence of hundreds of former Congress supporters in the meeting is indicative of the fact that our support base is intact. These people were once top leaders of the Congress and we are sure their efforts will work on strengthening the AITC in Resubelpara,” said Rinaldo.
