SHILLONG, April 14: On the very day of its inception, the Meghalaya Trinamool Congress Students’ Union has gone in guns blazing at the Meghalaya government.
The Meghalaya Pradesh Trinamool Congress Committee constituted its youth wing on Thursday.
Speaking to reporters after being elected as the youth wing president, Bansharailang Pyngrope termed Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma as the ‘worst and most inefficient’ CM of the state.
“Everyone had the impression that he (Conrad) is going to be a great and dynamic leader in 2018 when he was sworn-in as the CM. But he is good only in giving speeches,” Pyngrope said, while also stating that Conrad is an efficient administrator.
He then went on to lambast the NPP-led MDA coalition for allegedly continuing to neglect the demands of the teachers, while adding that it had done nothing in the past four years.
Shedding light on the objectives and goals of the youth wing, Pyngrope said the Union will focus on issues concerning the youths of the state.
He said the youth wing will try to impress upon the state government the need to improve the education sector by ensuring that all get access to quality education.
The office-bearers of the Union apart from Bansharailang Pyngrope include Changkam Sangma (vice president), general secretaries Landingstar Nongbri, Browline Sangma, Alian B Marak and Damiyo Lamare, and secretaries Alok M Sangma, Mastram Sangma, Suraj Marak and Daphne Pyngrope.
