Apology demanded from government

TURA: South Tura MLA John Leslee K Sangma on Tuesday strongly condemned the action of the government for allegedly violating the secular rights of Christians by asking government employees to work on Easter Sunday.

As citizens of India and Meghalaya being a Christian state we have been guaranteed secular rights by which we have every right to be in church on Easter Sunday stated Sangma who added that the action of the government in disregarding this right is tantamount to disrespect of the Christian faith. Sangma has sought an immediate apology from the government to Christians.
