TURA, April 18: The All Meghalaya Contractual Teachers Association (AMCTA), Dadenggre Unit, on Monday, sought the regularization of their services through the holding of special MTET exams in the wake of the same being done for their counterparts in many other states including Assam, or to rehabilitate them in some other posts considering their qualifications.
A memorandum in this regard has also been submitted by the teachers to the Principal Secretary to the Government of Meghalaya where they pointed out various reasons justifying their demand.
The teachers made an appeal to the government through the Principal Secretary to consider their demands and obtain concurrence of the NCTE/Central Government to allow the state to hold a Special Eligibility Test for all the contractual teachers working at government LP schools under Dadenggre Subdivision, if not for others at the moment, and regularise or absorb them all in their respective posts on permanent basis at the earliest.
