SSA Women’s Football: Lawei, Mawlai emerge victorious

SHILLONG, April 20: Lawei SC and Mawlai SC came out on top in their respective Shillong Sports Association Women’s Football League matches, here on Wednesday. In the first match, Laweis SC scored both goals against Nongthymmai SC in the first half through Sany Khyriemmujai (12’) and Narola Kharkamni (17’). Later, Mawlai SC registered a mammoth 18-0 victory over Thynroit SC with Rushia Dkhar (1’, 5’, 17’, 26’, 35’, 41’, 44’) firing in seven goals while Sunalinda Lawren (11’, 19’, 28’, 31’, 38) scored five. Bahunlang Synrem (10’, 30’) and Ibashisha Khongwet (43’, 54’) scored a brace each. The other scorers were Napale Roiki Lytan (9’) and Rivilda Rynjah (25’). On Thursday, the men’s First Division resumes with Smit SCfacing Sawmer SC at 3:30 pm.
