Shillong lad wins Jr Mr Universe India

SHILLONG, April 20: A Shillong-based bodybuilder, Ashit Baruah brought laurels to the state by winning the Junior Mr Universe India title in the 60-70 kg category during the recently concluded International Bodybuilding Championship organised by the Indian Bodybuilding & Fitness Federation, in Pune.
Baruah also bagged the first position in the Mr India National Championship 2022 in the 65-70 kg weight category.
He arrived in Shillong on Wednesday and was welcomed by his family and friends.
In a conversation with the media, Baruah credited his father, coach and mother for his victory. His father, Raju Baruah, is also a bodybuilder and has won many titles.
“I am really to be winning the Mr Universe and Mr India titles and I thank my father and Robbie, who have been coaching me,” he added.
