Earth Day
The State Council of Science, Technology & Environment, Meghalaya, will celebrate World Earth Day under the theme ‘Invest in Planet Earth’ on Friday. As part of the celebration, a consultative workshop on the topic ‘Forest based livelihood security and indigenous people right on Natural Resources in Meghalaya’ will be organised in collaboration with Aaranyak Assam at the Multi-Convention Hall in NEHU from 10 am onwards. According to a statement, the objective of the workshop is to review and map potential ways to develop sustainable livelihood among forest-fringe villages capitalising on traditional knowledge and cultural ethos of the indigenous communities. Street plays will also be organised on the same day at Don Bosco Square and Police Bazaar at 4 pm and 5 pm respectively.
Event
PRIME Meghalaya, in collaboration with German Airline, Lufthansa and its NGO-arm Help Alliance, will conduct the Signature Impact Week 2022 on Saturday. A statement in this regard informed that during the event, trainers from the reputed Lufthansa Group and various other multinational organisations from across the world will join hands to train select faculty members and students of the state on ‘design thinking’ and also solving pressing issues of the state.
