NEEPCO

As a part of CSR-CD programme 2012-13, NEEPCO donated Medical Apparatus to Cancer Care & ENT unit Civil Hospital, Shillong amounting to Rs 18,92,553 on Thursday. The machines were handed over to the Civil Hospital Authorities by Director (Personnel) NEEPCO, IP Barooah and Director (Finance) NEEPCO, AG West Khargongkar in the presence of Commissioner and Secretary in charge of Health and Family Department, DP Wahlang besides other officials.

Notification

The State Government has informed that the Additional Deputy Commissioner of West Jaintia Hills DP Kharsati shall also function as the District Planning Officer of the district with effect from the date of taking over charge and until further orders.

Clarification

With regard to a news report which appeared on the daily on April 3 under the caption Meghalaya Crime Dairy with sub-caption-‘Assault’, the relatives of the victim, Mirinda Ryntathiang have clarified that the names of the assailants are Brestar Jyrwa and Barisha Mary Jyrwa and not Bus Jyrwa and Khongtih Jyrwa.

Seed Festival

The Meghalaya Basin Development Authority (MBDA), Shillong in collaboration with the District Basin Development Unit, EGH will organize a ”Seed Festival” in the district under the Meghalaya Integrated and Basin Development and Livelihood Programme. Under the Samanda C&RD Block the festival will be held at Williamnagar Market Parking on April 6, at Songsak C&RD Block at Songsak Market on April 9 and under the Rongjeng C&RD Block at Rongjeng Market Field on April 13.
