Govt appoints Anti-Infiltration Director

SHILLONG: The State Government has appointed Tennyson Dkhar as the ex-officio Director of the newly created Anti-Infiltration Directorate.

Official sources on Sunday informed that Dkhar recently took charge of the new Directorate.

According to official sources, the Directorate is temporarily functioning from the State Police Headquarter.

To a query, the source informed that the Government is yet to indentify the land for setting up of the new Directorate.

The source also informed that the Government has sanctioned a total number of 144 posts in the first phase and necessary fund for the infrastructure would be sanctioned once the Directorate starts functioning.

The proposed Directorate has been assigned with the task of checking infiltration and influx into the State.

In September 2011, Chief Minister Dr Mukul Sangma had announced creation of the Anti-Infiltration Directorate which will function under the Home Department.
