IIM, NIFT to promote professional growth

SHILLONG, May 5: The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Shillong and National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) Shillong have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in a bid to promote professional growth at national as well as international level.
According to a statement, the MoU was signed on Thursday by Director IIM Shillong, Prof DP Goyal, and Director of NIFT Shillong, Dr Arindam Das.
Goyal, during the programme, said that the MoU will facilitate cooperation between IIM Shillong and NIFT Shillong, thereby promoting professional growth both at the national and international levels in design and management.
He added that the MoU will also promote cross-disciplinary learning in line with the objectives of the National Education Policy 2020.
Das, while terming the MoU historic, expressed hope that that it should open up various possibilities of collaborations for mutual benefit.
It may be mentioned that the key areas of collaboration, knowledge-sharing and joint activity include students-exchange programmes, joint field trips, faculty training, mentorship, PhD supervision, joint research and publications, collaboration with foreign experts, and participation in workshops, seminars and conferences.
