Chandigarh: More trouble is brewing up for the Congress as its grass root support base Rajiv Gandhi Vichar Manch has been dissolved and replaced by a new party ‘All India Bahujan Congress party’.

Having lakhs of members in Punjab and other states, the launch of All India Bahujan Congress party was announced today by Rajiv Gandhi Vichar Manch Chairman Balbir Singh K P.

Talking to mediapersons at the occasion, he said the manch members felt disenchanted when Congress did not fulfill the promises made either for the developmental works in the respective areas of their workers or to the Manch members.

“Formation of the new party is the result of Congress leadership sidelining members of the Manch and not fulfilling the promises made to us”, he added.

The Manch has more than 22 lakh members in Punjab, 4.85 lakh in Haryana, 1.78 lakh in Mumbai, 13 lakh in Uttar Pradesh, 8 lakh in Rajasthan and 3 lakh in Himachal Pradesh.

Despite having such a large membership, Congress never took initiative of giving coveted posts and duties to these members. At different gatherings of the Manch Congress leaders like Oscar Fernandes, Mukul Vasnik, Preneet Kaur, Mahinder Singh KP and others not only appreciated the Manch for its efforts, but also promised responsible posts in the party. Despite having worked dedicatedly over a period of 22 years, the Manch members have been left in lurch.

He said the dynastic politics is at its peak in Congress due to which in the last vidhan sabha elections Congress’ Punjab leaders primarily lobbied to get tickets for their own family members.

Under this Captain Amrinder Singh got ticket for his son Raninder Singh, Mahinder Singh KP got ticket for his wife Suman KP, Shamsher Singh Dullo got ticket for his wife Harbans Kaur Dullo and Pratap Singh Bajwa got ticket for his wife Charanjit Kaur, but kept mum over the issue of getting tickets for dedicated party workers, he added.

“The Congress’ hand has not completely turned into a vote seeking hand. One should not expect justice from this hand anymore”, he said.

Some office bearers of the All India Bahujan Congress party were also announced at the occasion. Balbir Singh KP is the national president, Ashish Shukla from Mumbai is its general secretary. Besides this Kulvir Chaudhary is president of Uttar Pradesh state, Sukhwinder Kaur is president of Delhi, Vivek Awasthi is president Himachal Pradesh and Malwinder Singh Malli was announced president of the Haryana unit.

Similarly, Jasmel Singh has been declared as the national president of youth wing. Balbir Singh KP said that the list of rest of office bearers will soon be announced. (UNI)
