Surprise raid unearths cache of liquor in city

SHILLONG, May 15: A cache of country-made liquor and Indian-made foreign liquor (IMFL) was unearthed from certain households located in the vicinity of old home guard ground in Lumshatsngi Kench’s Trace after a surprise raid by Dorbar Shnong Lumshatsngi Kench’s Trace and the Excise department of East Khasi Hills on May 11.
In a statement issued here on Sunday, Rangbah Shnong of Dorbar Lumshatsngi Kench’s Trace, Kyrsoi Bok Nongbri, said the concerned authority has initiated action against the perpetrators.
The Dorbar Shnong has also issued a strong warning against habitual offenders of all kinds of substance abuse as it has “shattered families and affected the peace and tranquility of the society at large,” Nongbri said.
