Khliehriat, May 17: The three days District Level Inter School Athletic Meet 2022 kick-started at Teilang Playground, Dkhiah West, East Jaintia Hills District, on Tuesday.
Deputy Commissioner, East Jaintia Hills District, Abhilash Baranwal inaugurated the event as the chief guest.
The Athletics Meet 2022 is being organised by the office of the District Sports Officer, East Jaintia Hills District in collaboration with the East Jaintia District Sports Association (EJDSA) as part of the celebration of 75 years of India’s Independence and the celebration of 50 years of Meghalaya statehood.
This year, 23 schools form the district are competing across various events including track running ragning fom 60 metres to 3000 metres, and the 4×100 metre relay, Discus Throw, Javelin Throw, Shot Put, High jump and Long Jump divided into three categories -U14, U16 and U18 for boys and girls.
