Meghalaya return with table tennis medals from North East Games

 SHILLONG: Among those who represented the State at the recently-concluded North East Games in Imphal last week were the table tennis players, who won three medals at the event.

The team, coached by Rollingstone Sangma and Banshan Diengdoh, won one silver and two bronze medals.

Tanushree Dasgupta claimed the silver in the girls’ singles final and partnered with Nandita Shabong to take bronze in the doubles.

The boys were not left out either. Suranjit Dey, Bivek Das, Fredystar Nongsiej and Chinobem G Momin took home bronze in the team event.
