SHILLONG: The FKJGP Mawryngkneng Circle along with the rangbah shnongs of the area have asked the Director of the State Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Department to uplift the Stockman Centre at Mawryngkneng to a State Dispensary.

In a statement, they sought for establishment of a State Dispensary instead of the Stockman Centre to boost the income of the local people who rear poultry and pigs for their livelihood.

FKJGP Mawryngkneng Circle general secretary Iairiskhem K Sohmat said people who rear poultry and other animals would largely benefit from the establishment of a State Dispensary.
