TURA, May 31: Deputy Speaker Timothy D Shira has exhorted the students from North Garo Hills to work towards developing a scientific temperament, asserting that doing so would help them in their day-to-day lives.
The Deputy Speaker said this while addressing a gathering as the chief guest at a district-level Science, Mathematics and Environment exhibition at Dilma A’pal Higher Secondary school, Resubelpara, on Tuesday.
Thematised on ‘Technology and Toys’, the exhibition was partaken by eight schools.
Addressing the gathering, Shira said that Science is part and parcel of everyday life.
“Therefore, students should develop interest in Science, which would enable them to solve everyday problems through the application of scientific method,” the Deputy Speaker said.
During the programme, M-tabs were also distributed to students as part of the Chief Minister’s programme that aims to empower higher secondary school students with digital learning.
