Two women footballers from state train at Elite Camp

SHILLONG, June 7: Two women footballers from Meghalaya – Nisilia Majaw and Iawanlang Nongbet – have been included as part of a contingent of 20 footballers to undergo professional training at the Women in Sports Elite Camp, in Kolkata. The six-day camp is an opportunity for the young eves playing in the Indian women’s national team and in the Indian Women’s League to enhance their skills. They are being trained and scouted by five international coaches. The five football coaches include Tom Sermanni, Head of Women’s’ Football for Western Sydney Wanderers, Mia Medvedovski, Assistant Coach for Dinamo Zagreb in Croatia, Pedro Martin, Head Coach of Marbella FC and Scout for higher level teams, Ross Stormonth, Head Coach of Rangers U-19, and Caitlin Friend, Assistant Coach at Melbourne Victory and Head Coach in the State League.
