Golden Jubilee

Nepali Sahayogi Secondary school, situated at Khanapara, Ri- Bhoi district will celebrate its Golden Jubilee this year. The school bears a great significance in the perspective of the State of Meghalaya as it stands right on the boundary with Assam. It is due to this school that the boundary of the state is secure at this place. The main function of the golden Jubilee celebration will be held on April 24.

 Workshop

As a part of the Year of the Youth, a three day Caving Camp Workshop, from the 15th to 17th April 2013 was organized in Sohra by the Directorate of Sports & Youth Affairs, in collaboration with the Meghalaya Adventurers’ Association. Actual cave visits to Krem Mawmluh and Krem Lawkhlieng were undertaken.

 Conference

The Meghalaya Medical Services Association will hold its XVIII scientific conference cum general body meeting on April 26 and 27 at Hotel Pinewood. The conference will be inaugurated by Health and Family Welfare Minister AL Hek on April 26 at 2:30 pm.

 Rally

Meghalaya State Government Employees Federation will hold its 12th federal council meeting at U Soso Tham Auditorium on April 23 at 10 and employees rally at 2 pm in which Chief Secretary WMS Pariat will be the chief guest.

 Earth Day

College of Teacher Education (PGT), Shillong on Monday celebrated Earth Day in the premises of the college. The principal Dr V Kharmawphlang said that the day is observed to remind that all human being share the same planet.

 Inauguration

IL&FS institute of Skills-Shillong will be inaugurated by the Chief Secretary WMS Pariat on April 23 at 2.30 pm.

 Talk

All students and faculty of zoology and Environment department of colleges and universities of Shillong have been invited to a talk on Bio Diversity conservation in NER by former director ZSI at St Peter’s College on April 24 at 11 am.

 Ceremony

Harding Theological College, Tura, Meghalaya celebrated its First B.D. graduation ceremony on April 20, at Tura Baptist Church. There were 7 graduates from the college and all of them are already engaged in different ministries under Garo Baptist Churches.
