MCA to conduct Chess C’ship

SHILLONG, June 19: The Meghalaya Chess Association (MCA) will be organising the Meghalaya State Schools Under-15 Chess Championship 2022 at the Laban Indoor Sports Hall on June 17 and 18.
The program is part of selection process that will allow the winner to witness the upcoming 44th Chess Olympiad scheduled to be held in Chennai from July 28 to August 10.
The championship will offer players a total of 50 trophies and prizes to the winners – 25 for Boys and 25 for Girls – besides top participants from government schools.
The winner will get the opportunity to watch the Chess Olympiad to be played by top Grandmasters from around the Globe, and will get the chance to interact with them besides receiving free coaching from the Grandmasters. Only players born on or after 01.01.2007 are eligible for participation.
