Plaint against GH cop for refusing to register FIR

TURA, June 20: A case has been filed against the officer in-charge of Mahendraganj Police Station for allegedly refusing to register an FIR based on a man’s complaint.
The complaint against the cop was filed by one Sofiol Miah, a resident of Nayapara village under Mahendraganj Police Station in South West Garo Hills, who, along with his family, was reportedly assaulted by Village Employment Council secretary and his supporters.
According to Miah, following the assault, he went to file a complaint against the alleged assailants when the officer in-charge of Mahendraganj Police Station refused to not only register an FIR but also forced him to withdraw his complaint and compromise with the assailants.
