Youth hurt in failed Ri-Bhoi robbery bid

NONGPOH, June 23: In yet another case of robbery attempt by bike-borne miscreants in Ri-Bhoi, a youth in Byrnihat sustained minor injuries when two men on a bike attempted to snatch his bag of money.
As per sources, the incident happened at around 11:40 am on Thursday at Amjok, under Byrnihat Police Outpost, when the youth, identified as Sahil Jaman Passah, was on his way back home after withdrawing money from the Byrnihat branch of State Bank of India.
As per CCTV footage, the miscreants were riding a Bajaj Pulsar 220cc bike (AS13M9065).
The pillion rider was seen attempting to snatch the money bag of the youth but to no avail. However, in the course, the youth sustained minor injuries whilst the miscreants fled the scene.
The victim, along with the help of locals, then gave chase and successfully nabbed one of them at 15 Mile Byrnihat along with the bike which was used for the crime. The other managed to flee.
The miscreant was later handed over to the Byrnihat Police Outpost and an FIR was also registered in this regard.
