SHILLONG, June 27: A sum of Rs 57.8 lakh was collected from 1.16 lakh applicants by the Meghalaya Public Service Commission (MPSC) who had applied for 119 Grade-IV posts in the Secretariat, an RTI application revealed. The government however has not come out with a date to conduct the examination or the interview.
The RTI application was filed by Disparsing Rani.
Talking to reporters, Rani said that the state government had called the recruitment of the 119 vacant posts, adding that the MPSC had issued an advertisement in February 2022 with regard to the vacant posts.
“As per the RTI information, a total number of 1,16,563 job aspirants have applied for the vacant posts. But the state government had to call off the recruitment process following the intervention of the (High) Court,” he said.
The RTI activist said that the applicants are wondering when the recruitment process will take place.
According to the RTI reply, the recruitment was put on hold due to High Court order.
Rani has also filed a fresh RTI application with the Meghalaya Energy Corporation Limited (MeECL) on the electricity connection toHarijan Colony as the PIO of MeECL informed that they received no such RTI application.
