JOWAI: A murder accused identified as Roi Sympli (20) of Sakhain village under Sutnga Elaka in East Jaintia Hills District killed himself inside the police lock-up at Khliehriat Police Station around 8 am on Monday.
“He hanged himself with his own nylon T-shirt tied over the grill of the ventilator inside the police lock up,” police said.
He was arrested on April 29 for killing his fellow villager.
Doctors from Khliehriat CHC conducted the post mortem examination in the presence of magistrate and the body was later handed over to his family members.
