TURA: In view of the rise of crimes and domestic violence against women and children, West Garo Hills Extra Assistant Commissioner Winje RG Momin has been appointed as Judicial Magistrate First Class, Tura, to enquiry into such cases assisted by the Protection Officer and other magistrates.
Informing this, West Garo Hills Deputy Commissioner Pravin Bakshi stated that the EAC will enquire and pass appropriate orders under relevant Sections of Protection of Women against Domestic Violence Act 2005, Meghalaya Victim Compensation 2011, Immoral Trafficking Prevention Act and latest amended sections of IPC and CrPC relating to crimes against women and children.
