SHILLONG: The Court of the Chief Judicial Magistrate on Monday issued an arrest warrant against Chancellor of CMJ University, CM Jha, and two others.

Sources on Monday said that the Court issued the arrest warrant against Jha, University Director Manjeet Kaur and Human Resource Manager Juban Kharpuri, all of who are reportedly absconding.

It is learnt that the order came from the Court after the CID moved a plea in the Court seeking arrest warrants against the three officials of the CMJ University.

The State CID has also already sealed two offices of the University – in Shillong and Khanapara – and has already arrested Deputy Registrar Premlal Rai and Registrar Mrinal Kanti Deb.

According to sources, the Court has also issued a search warrant empowering the CID to search the house of CM Jha.
