Modi a visionary leader: Hek harks back to experience with PM

SHILLONG, Aug 8: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLA Alexander Laloo Hek on Monday called Prime Minister Narendra Modi a visionary leader, while recalling his past encounter with the latter during his days in Congress.
Hek was speaking at a launch event of Modi @20: Dreams Meet Delivery, a book authored by eminent intellectuals and writers of India.
Casting his mind back to the days when he was a Congressman, Hek revealed that Modi had called him up over the phone only to inform that the former has been selected to represent Shillong parliamentary constituency.
“This was his charisma! He told me that he will come to Shillong to talk to me. But I requested him that I would meet him instead in Ahmedabad, and we had a discussion of around 45 minutes,” the BJP leader said.
Published by Rupa Publications India, Modi @20: Dreams Meet Delivery has been written by eminent intellectuals and writers like Nandan Nilekani, Sudha Murty, Sadguru, PV Sindhu, Amish Tripathi, among others. The book is an anthology of chapters written by eminent writers elaborating and depicting the fundamental transformation that the country has gone through under the leadership of Narendra Modi as the head of the government in the last 20 years.
The book also elaborates on Modi’s model of governance which has touched the lives of a cross-section of the people of the society.
