SHILLONG, Aug 19: The notion that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is against Muslims is only a vendetta of some vested interests, Union Minister of State (MoS) for Home Ajay Mishra said at a programme here on Friday, wherein a group of Muslim citizens from South Shillong constituency and others joined the saffron party.
In his address, the Union MoS said the party works for every citizen of the country irrespective of caste and creed.
MD Zakaria, who joined the party along with others, said that they are not wrong in their decision to join the BJP as they have seen that Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the BJP are taking all the communities along while taking the country to the path of the development.
The leaders who joined the party were also felicitated.
