Applications invited

The National Institute of Technology, Meghalaya in collaboration with the District Disaster Authority, Government of Meghalaya has invited application for a one-week training course on earthquake resistant building construction technology for masons. The first batch will be from June 10-15 and second batch from June 17-22. Stipend to the trainees will be given as per government rates.

Inauguration

The District Basin Development Unit of West Khasi Hills inaugurated the Enterprise Facilities Centre at Nongstoin Block office on May 21 continuing its efforts to spread awareness among the people about the Integrated Basin development and Livelihood Promotion Programme and provide entrepreneurs with the necessary intervention to start their enterprise.

Office bearers

The Mawlai Town Durbar, comprising of heads of 15 different localities of Mawlai has elected its new office bearers with SD Khongwir as the president, KM Lyngdoh as vice president, MW Nongbri as the secretary, R Thangkhiew as the joint secretary and BR Kharmujai as the treasurer.

lThe Seng Kynthei Dong Lummawrie has been re-constituted with Dr TK Kharbamon as the president, S Warjri as the vice president, M Gatphoh as the secretary, A Khyriemmujat as the assistant secretary and GK Sohkhlet as the treasurer.

Programme

The NOW Ecoclub of the department of Environmental science and NSS of St Edmund’s College unit will observe the International Day on Biological Diversity on May 22 at the college auditorium from 1.30pm onwards. Various activities will be organised based on this year’s theme-‘Water and Biodiversity’.
