Programme
Sankardev College, Shillong, will commemorate the grand finale of its diamond jubilee celebrations by organising the programme at 11 am on Friday at the college auditorium. The programme will be attended by Education Minister Lahkmen Rymbui and Chief Secretary DP Wahlang as the chief guest and the guest of honour respectively.

Dak Adalat
A divisional-level Dak Adalat will organised at 11.30 am on September 12 at the Office of the Senior Superintendant of Post Offices, Meghalaya Division. According to a statement, the Dak Adalat will entertain grievances pertaining to postal services for its redressal. “Written complaints should be sent so as to reach this office on or before 18.05.2022,” the statement said.

Office-bearers
An executive committee meeting of the UDP Shillong on Wednesday inducted new office-bearers for the term 2022-2025. In a statement, UDP Shillong public secretary Augesten Blah informed that the new body includes Richard Syiemlieh as the president, Alex Lynser as the working president, Desmond KL Mawlong as the general secretary, Kersuk Cajee as the chief youth organiser, among others.

Unclaimed body
A body of a man, identified as Alias Nobel Nongkhlaw, was found lying on August 23 on the side of a shortcut of Kutche-Old KLMC Road. The body was subsequently shifted to Shillong Civil Hospital for autopsy, and is now kept for identification. A statement in this regard informed that the deceased is approximately 55-60 years old, has a thin built, a swarthy complexion and an oval-shaped face. He was found wearing a white shirt, white-striped half t-shirt, a pair of black trousers and red undergarment.
