TURA, Sep 11: The first All Garo Hills School level Chess Championship organised by Garo Hills Chess Association, concluded on Saturday in Tura.
Around 100 students, both boys and girls, from all over Garo Hills participated in the tournament, which was sponsored by the District administration, District Sports office and Prime alternatives Tura.
The winners in the Under-12 category were (1st) Cheaha Nikgame Green Momin, (2nd) Nikman G Momin, (3rd) Amaziah Gapesa Ch Marak, (4th) Xhigandil J Sangma, (5th) Chongkimbea M Sangma and (6th) Aidan Namte M Momin.
Sildora Ritime D Sangma was adjudged the best Female player under the same category.
The winners of the Under- 15 category were (1st) Arano Rikrim Ch Momin, (2nd) Anthony B Marak, (3rd) Arian Mikkam N Sangma, (4th) Arak Krimchang M Sangma, (5th) Thangwa M Sangma and (6th) Eriweang M Momin.
Joanna John P Marak was adjudged the best Female player under the category.
