Group seeks action against Assam village head for running office in M’laya

TURA, Sep 22: The All Meghalaya Minorities Students’ Union (AMMSU) has sought action against a Gaon Pradhan of a village in Assam for reportedly operating his office from Hallidayganj village (Kasharipara), which falls under Meghalaya.
In a complaint to the Deputy Commissioner of South Salmara in Assam, the group said that the one Taijul Islam, Gaon Pradhan of Lot No 08 for the revenue village Fulerchar Pt-III, has been holding his office outside the jurisdiction of Assam at Kasharipara under Hallidayganj village in Meghalaya.
The union also called for an immediate investigation and subsequent action against the offender.
