SHILLONG: With more cases of anomaly coming to fore in the Megha Health Insurance Scheme (MHIS), the FKJGP has questioned the State Government for failing to clarify on the nitty-gritty of the scheme.

“Does the duty of the Government end after the launch of the scheme,” the FKJGP publicity secretary Eldie Newton Lyngdoh asked in a statement issued here on Wednesday.

The Federation said that the Government has distributed smart cards and the booklets to the beneficiaries without briefing them on the future course of action.

“One of the beneficiaries of the scheme who was admitted in John Robert Hospital, Jaiaw was compelled to pay half of the total medical expenditures of Rs 22,000 from her own pocket,” the FKJGP claimed.

The FKJGP also demanded that ICICI Lombard, which is the implementing agency of the scheme, pays for the treatment.
