SHILLONG, Oct 7: A day after a minor scuffle broke out between some students of the North-Eastern Hill University (NEHU), the University authorities on Friday clarified that the issue has been resolved amicably.
NEHU PRO Davidson Pyngrope also made it clear that no one was hospitalised as reported in social media.
Unconfirmed reports had stated that there was a scuffle between students of two communities, residing at Mawthadraishan Hostel (Hostel No. 20), and a student had been hospitalised.
NEHU Vice Chancellor (in-charge) Henry Lamin convened an emergent meeting on Friday which was attended by officials and students along with representatives of the NEHU students’ union and resolved the matter, Pyngrope said, adding: “The report that a Pnar student was harassed by some Mizo students is wrong.”
