Led under the supervision of Prof. Rachal Purkhayastha, Head of the Department of Political Science of St. Anthony’s College, the teams comprising of 45 students will be participating in a Student Exchange Programme called JENESYS 2.0 (Japan-Asia Network of Exchange for Students and Youths) beginning from June 9 till 16. The three teams are part of the 1,250 youth delegation from SAARC countries invited to Japan this year.

This short duration programme is being funded by the Government of Japan for SAARC Member States, aiming towards the revitalization of the Japanese economy by promoting potential interests toward Japan as well as global understanding on Japan’s strengths, attractions and values.

This new youth exchange programme was announced early this year in January by Prime Minister Shinzo Abe during his visit to Indonesia.
