TURA: In view of the imminent transfer of SDEO, IG Momin due to alleged demands of some individuals, the Garo Students’ Union (GSU), Western Zone (North), Dadenggre have stated that the Union wants the Officer to be still posted in Dadenggre and if the Government gives a green signal to her transfer, it should answer to the ‘why’ of the people first.

The Union said that they were disappointed with the news that some individuals with selfish intentions were trying for the transfer of IG Momin, SDEO, Dadenggre.

The said officer was promoted to the post of SDEO, Dadenggre some two months back and prior to her promotion she had worked as Principal in Dadenggre Puri Govt. Higher Secondary School.

Stating that, the people of Dadenggre had been demanding for a full fledged SDEO since some two years back as we had been given officers who were holding dual charges, the Union pointed out that since the previous officers had dual responsibilities they could not focus fully to the official affairs of Dadenggre.

However, after the appointment of IG Momin to the post of SDEO, the Union has alleged of seeing a positive change.

“Prior to her appointment there was irregularity in office attendance by former SDEOs as they all had held dual offices and having dual responsibility they could not concentrate on their official duties fully” said President of the Union, Rupa M Marak and added that the posting of IG Momin as SDEO is like a boon to Dadenggre.

GSU expressed their condemnation for those who are trying to get IG Momin transferred for their own selfish intentions and is seeking an explanation as on what ground the demand for the Officer’s transfer is being demanded.

“We want regularity in office attendance and sincerity, honesty and hard work in an Officer. We don’t want an Officer who would serve the interest of one group of individual. Seeing IG Momin’s present sincerity in her duty we want her to stay” stated Rupa M Marak.
