MLA lays base for road projects in Mawkynrew

SHILLONG, Oct 13: Two foundation stones for road projects collectively worth Rs 8.10 crore, which will connect six villages which fall under Mawkynrew constituency, were laid by local MLA and Agriculture Minister Banteidor Lyngdoh on Wednesday.
The projects are funded under Rural Infrastructure Development Fund (RIDF).
The first project will connect Mawsir, Mawdulop and Ksanrngi while the two other road projects will connect Mawlang, Mawjatap and Siangkhnai.
Speaking on the occasion, an elated Lyngdoh said, “The residents of the six villages will greatly benefit once the road projects are completed.”
He pointed out that plenty of hard work has gone into materialisation of important roads under Mawkynrew constituency such as the road from Smit to Jatah, Syntung, Nongjrong and Mawlat.
