Police prevent trouble in NEHU

SHILLONG, Nov 1: Police on Tuesday staved off trouble in North-Eastern Hill University (NEHU), Shillong, which started brewing after a few members of a students’ body tried to check the documents of workers brought in ahead of the North East Olympics.
It was informed that the administration was not apprised of the workers being brought for the North East Olympics.
When members of a students’ body went to check the documents of the workers near the community hall, police reached the scene and took control of the situation.
The workers were then shifted to SAI stadium.
Informing that the documents of the workers are in place, police informed that there was no assault reported.
Assuring that things are under control, police also said that additional security will be deployed at the site.
