SHILLONG, Nov 7: As many as 19 residents of Pynursla village on Monday questioned the Rangbah Shnong of Mudon Sing Kongthah for allegedly accusing them of trying to stop the distribution of PDS rice in the village.
Talking to reporters, one of the residents, Dawanbor Diengdoh said that they have all been accused of trying to prevent the distribution of PDS rice in the area by the Rangbah Shnong.
He claimed that the Rangbah Shnong, who is trying to turn the residents of the village against them by spreading this false news, is yet to get the Sanad (appointment letter) from Syiem of Hima Khyrim as well as the Dorbar of Syiem.
“We are really disappointed since the people of the village now think that we are the ones who are trying to stop the distribution of the PDS rice. But this is the false propaganda which is spread by the Rangbah Shnong,” Diengdoh said.
He said the people would not accept any meeting convened by the Rangbah Shnong since he is yet to be recognised by the Syiem of Hima Khyrim. Diengdoh, however, appreciated the SDO of Pynursla Civil Subdivision for taking the initiative to appoint a dealer for the distribution of PDS rice as was assured to them on November 4.
