SHILLONG, Nov 10: Police on Thursday questioned two FKJGP leaders — Kitboklang Nongphlang and Khrawkupar Nongsiej —for more than eight hours at Sadar police station in connection with the violence during the public rally on unemployment organised by the federation on October 28.
Nongphlang (vice president) and Nongsiej (organising secretary) arrived at the police station at noon and emerged after questioning at around 8 pm.
“We will file a complaint for being questioned for so many hours. But we hope that no other members will be summoned over the same incident,” Nongphlang said.
According to him, they expect the state government to take steps to solve the problem of unemployment among the youth.
He also said that they were booked under six different sections at Laitumkhrah police station and another six sections at Sadar police station.
Last week, police had issued summons to FKJGP general secretary Eldie N Lyngdoh and senior vice-president Elton C Warjri and quizzed them at Sadar police station.
Police had earlier arrested four persons for assaulting pedestrians and damaging shops and vehicles during the rally on October 28.
