SHILLONG: The kin of the family from the city, which went missing at Kedarnath in Uttarakhand after the Himalaya Tsunami last week, have sought the support of the East Khasi Hills district administration in locating their family members.
The kin of the missing family met East Khasi Hills Deputy Commissioner Sanjay Goyal on Sunday and submitted the names of the missing persons along with their photographs.
Goyal, later, informed that the details were forwarded to officials in Uttarakhand on Sunday itself and an official search letter would be sent to the Uttarakhand government on Monday seeking its help in tracing the missing family which had gone on a pilgrimage to Kedarnath.
The six missing members of the family – Shigan Agarwal (80), Kasturi Devi Agarwal (70) Satya Narayan Agarwal (58), Hiramani Agarwal (50), Mahabir Prasad Agarwal (47) and Saroj Agarwal (45) – residents of Garikhana in the city.
The family informed that some members have reached Dehradun to find out the whereabouts of their missing family members.
