SHILLONG, Dec 13: Members of the Khasi Students’ Union, led by its president Lambokstar Marngar and general secretary Donald V Thabah, paid a visit to Mukroh village on Tuesday and found that no steps had been taken to set up the border police outpost.
Members of the Mukroh village dorbar, while interacting with the KSU members, said a feeling of fear and insecurity was rife among the villagers. They reiterated their demand for a border outpost right near the interstate border with Assam’s Karbi Anglong district.
The villagers told the KSU members that an outpost near or at the village would not serve the purpose.
The KSU leaders also interacted with police personnel deployed in the village after the November 22 killings.
The KSU members claimed that the police personnel revealed that they were facing shortage of food and even arms and ammunitions.
