RKM pays tribute to U Soso Tham

SHILLONG, Dec 17: Rich tributes were paid to Khasi poet U Soso Tham during a ‘PLAY-DAY Function’ organised by Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama, Sohra.
According to a statement, the programme, which was organised to mark the 82nd death anniversary of U Soso Tham, was attended by around 1,400 students and teachers from 47 different Ramakrishna Mission Feeder Schools across the state.
Director of Social Welfare department DD Shira attended the programme as the chief guest. Some of the highlights of the programme include fusion of different Khasi traditional dance forms, songs and musical display by the participating students, et al.
“The three best teams to get rewarded on the basis of their standard of performance were RKM LP School, Kalatek, RKM LP School, Khliehshnong & RKM LP School, Laitmawsiang,” a statement in this regard said.
